This piece is a variation on the fifth episode of Modal Sketch No.1, realized using electronics. It also draws material from the previous four episodes, while maintaining a conceptual and structural approach closely aligned with Episode V of the original piano work.
The composition reinterprets the modal, harmonic, and temporal processes of the piano piece through electronic textures, spatialization, and timbral transformation. By emphasizing resonance, density, and subtle temporal shifts, the work preserves the sense of “timelessness within time” central to the original, while expanding the expressive possibilities offered by electronic sound.
